I love this celery juice recipe especially after a vacation of too much indulgence (like my recent one to Mexico!) Not only does it help with digestion, but celery juice is found to be extremely detoxifying, as it flushes out old toxins and poisons that have built up over time.
It can help kill viruses, bad bacteria, fungi and parasites in your body. This greatly helps to maintain a healthy gut, improve digestion and reduces bloating and inflammation. Celery juice also increases your body’s ability to break down protein and fat. While there is no published scientific research from the MD community, many functional medical doctors and other alternative medical providers have seen first hand what a difference it can make it improving overall health and clearing up inflammation based chronic conditions. My version below is modified for efficiency purposes, but if you have any chronic issues, I do recommend juicing your celery and not mixing it with anything else.
In your Vitamix or other blender, mix: 3 stalks of washed celery
Juice from one lemon
2-3 pinches of fresh parsley
1 pinch of tumeric
1 - 1 1⁄2 c water
4-6 ice cubes
*Add an apple if the taste is too bitter for you and gradually cut back on the amount of apple you put in
