Healthy Game-Day Turkey Chili Recipe

Nutrient dense California Style chili that I guarantee even kids will like!

Can you believe Tom Brady is off to another Super Bowl? After a day full of football this past Sunday along with the cold rainy weather here in the Bay Area, I started thinking back to a year ago and remembered this game-day recipe that I've added recently to my repertoire of family friendly meals that all three of my kids will eat.

While this years Super Bowl will look different in so many ways, I hope to embrace the day with some game-day themed food and activities for the kids while we watch one of my favorite athletes try to win number #7!

This simple game day crockpot chili (while not exactly traditional) is delicious, requires minimal prep time, and packs a big punch in the vegetable department. Originally derived from this Paleo Newbie recipe, there are no beans which makes it paleo friendly, and I've added my own adjustments based on my kids preferences including adding green beans (for a twist on chili) and removing some of the spicy kick that the original calls for. I remove the cayenne pepper all together, and reduce the amount of chili powder, but if you are a family that likes the spice by all means add it back in. And if you prefer a vegetarian version just remove the ground turkey and go meatless.

I hope you like it as much as we do!
